ANM GNM Cut-Off 2026: Expected Rank, Government College Cut-Off and Previous-Year Closing Ranks
Meta Description
Check the ANM GNM 2026 expected cut-off, government and private college rank trends, category-wise admission chances, previous-year opening and closing ranks and official counselling updates.
Is the ANM GNM 2026 Cut-Off Released?
No. As of 8 August 2026, WBJEEB has released the ANM(R) and GNM 2026 rank cards, but the official counselling opening and closing ranks have not been published.
The official cut-off will be released separately for:
- ANM(R) and GNM courses
- Each participating institute
- Every counselling round
- Open, SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B and EWS categories
- PwD, Civil Defence and other applicable seat categories
- Government and private nursing institutes
Candidates should not treat any predicted cut-off available online as the official ANM GNM 2026 cut-off.
Important: Cut-Off Marks and Closing Rank Are Different
There is no single cut-off mark that guarantees admission to ANM or GNM.
WBJEEB issues separate General Merit Ranks, or GMRs, for ANM(R) and GNM. Counselling and seat allotment are conducted according to the applicable GMR—not the candidate’s category rank.
The admission cut-off normally means the closing GMR of a particular college, course, category and counselling round.
For example, if the Open-category closing rank of an ANM institute is 700, it means the last Open-category candidate admitted to that institute in that round had GMR 700.
A lower GMR is better.
According to the official ANM GNM 2026 Information Bulletin, WBJEEB prepares separate ANM and GNM merit ranks and uses GMR for counselling and seat allotment.
ANM GNM 2026 EXPECTED CUT-OFF
The following ranges are broad counselling estimates based on recent official opening and closing rank trends. They are not official 2026 cut-offs and do not guarantee admission.
| Course and Institute Type | Broad Expected GMR Range | Admission Possibility |
|---|---|---|
| Government ANM – Open category | Up to approximately 800 | Competitive chance |
| Government ANM – Open category | 801–1,500 | Uncertain; depends on institute and later rounds |
| Government ANM – Open category | Above 1,500 | Limited Open-seat chance |
| Government GNM – Open category | Up to approximately 3,500 | Competitive chance |
| Government GNM – Open category | 3,501–7,000 | Institute and round dependent |
| Government GNM – Open category | Above 7,000 | Government Open-seat chance may be limited |
| Private GNM | Higher ranks may be considered | Depends heavily on college, fees and vacancies |
Reserved-category and special-category cut-offs can extend to higher GMRs. Candidates should therefore participate in counselling even if their rank is outside the Open-category ranges shown above.
Expected ANM 2026 Category-Wise Trend
| Category | Expected Government ANM Trend |
|---|---|
| Open | Strong competition; lower GMR generally required |
| OBC-A | Cut-off may extend beyond the Open closing rank |
| OBC-B | Cut-off varies according to reserved seats in each institute |
| SC | Admission may remain possible at a higher GMR than Open |
| ST | Previous cut-offs have extended considerably higher in some institutes |
| EWS | Depends on the number of EWS seats and valid certificates |
| PwD, Orphan or Civil Defence | Highly seat-specific; no common rank range can be predicted |
These estimates apply to admission trends, not to minimum qualifying marks.
Expected GNM 2026 Cut-Off Trend
Government GNM institutes usually have higher competition because of lower fees, clinical exposure and limited seats.
Candidates with lower GNM GMRs should place government institutes at the top of their choice list. Candidates with higher ranks should also add suitable private GNM colleges to improve their chances of allotment.
Male candidates must check the seat matrix carefully because only a limited number of government and private GNM institutes provide seats for male candidates.
OFFICIAL ANM 2025 ROUND 1 CLOSING RANKS
The following are selected examples from the official WBJEEB ANM and GNM 2025 Round 1 opening and closing rank database. These figures are GMRs and should be used only to understand the previous-year trend.
| Government ANM Institute | Open | OBC-A | OBC-B | SC | ST | EWS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ANM Training School, Domkol SSH | 128 | 580 | 432 | 1,316 | 8,476 | 3,116 |
| ANM Training School, Barasat MCH | 597 | 882 | 829 | 1,834 | 7,773 | 2,611 |
| ANM Training School, Diamond Harbour Government MCH | 663 | 1,013 | 908 | 1,821 | 8,315 | 2,810 |
| ANM Nursing Training School, Kakdwip SD Hospital | 761 | 1,025 | 933 | 1,892 | 8,455 | 2,887 |
The figures show why a single “ANM cut-off” cannot be given. Closing ranks change according to the institute and category.
SELECTED GNM 2025 ROUND 1 OPEN-CATEGORY CLOSING RANKS
The following examples show how widely GNM cut-offs can vary among private institutes.
| GNM Institute | Round 1 Open Closing GMR |
|---|---|
| Aastha Nursing Institute, Jiaganj | 10,454 |
| Institute of Child Health, Faculty of Nursing, Kolkata | 15,080 |
| Anandalok Institute of Nursing Education, Siliguri | 15,949 |
| Gouri Devi Nursing Academy, Durgapur | 31,415 |
| IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences, Durgapur | 47,391 |
| Priyamvada Birla Institute of Nursing, Rajarhat | 59,666 |
These ranks do not mean that every private college will accept candidates up to the same rank. College fees, seat availability, category, gender eligibility and choice order must also be considered.
Candidates can check the complete figures through the official ANM GNM 2025 OR-CR database.
Why Does the Cut-Off Change Every Year?
The ANM GNM cut-off changes because of:
- Number of candidates appearing for the examination
- Difficulty level of the question paper
- Marks and ranks obtained by candidates
- Number of government and private seats
- Course preference
- Category-wise reservation
- Gender-specific seats
- College location and popularity
- Candidate choice-filling order
- Seat withdrawals and upgrades
- Number of counselling rounds
- Vacant seats available in later rounds
Government and Private College Cut-Off Difference
Government ANM and GNM institutes generally close at lower GMRs because they have:
- Lower course fees
- Higher demand
- Limited seats
- Government hospital-based clinical exposure
- Hostel or stipend facilities in certain cases
Private GNM institutes may remain available at higher GMRs. However, candidates must check:
- Total tuition fees
- Hostel charges
- West Bengal Nursing Council recognition
- Indian Nursing Council suitability or recognition status
- Hospital and clinical facilities
- Location and transportation
- Availability of male or female seats

An invalid or outdated category certificate may result in cancellation of the reservation benefit.
Does Obtaining a Rank Guarantee Admission?

- Category and reservation
- Gender eligibility

- Seat availability
- Counselling round
- Successful document verification

Important Advice for Choice Filling
- Place genuinely preferred colleges at the top.
- Do not fill only one or two government colleges.
- Include multiple government institutes.
- Add suitable private GNM colleges as backup choices.
- Check private college fees before adding the choice.
- Male candidates must select only eligible GNM institutes.
- Do not compare ANM GMR with GNM GMR.
- Do not arrange choices only according to predicted cut-offs.
- Never share your password or OTP.
- Participate in later rounds if no seat is allotted in Round 1.
Conclusion
The official ANM GNM 2026 college-wise cut-off has not yet been published. WBJEEB has released the result and rank cards, but opening and closing ranks will become available only after counselling seat allotment.
Recent trends indicate that government ANM and GNM seats require comparatively lower GMRs, while private GNM seats may remain available at considerably higher ranks. Every eligible candidate should register for counselling, fill sufficient choices and check the official cut-off after each round.
