Class tests, written assignments, clinical and community performance, and the records and reports you maintain contribute to internal assessment.
The published syllabus sets 50% aggregate in each nursing subject and requires theory and practical papers to be passed separately.
The syllabus requires at least 80% attendance in theory and practical in each subject for exam eligibility, and 100% practical-area attendance before certification.

Your second-year internship
ANM spans two years: 18 months of study followed by a six-month internship. The internship is included within 2nd year and builds on your earlier clinical placements.

Midwifery hospital placements include antenatal care, labour-room experience, postnatal care and neonatal care. The internship also includes child-health practice and community health services.
INC specifies four weeks at a sub-centre or primary health centre with a regular ANM for supervised practice in the community.
Maintain your casebook and competency record, with the required signatures. INC’s amendment requires at least 80% of clinical requirements before the final examination and full completion, competencies and internship certification before the diploma is awarded.

The INC examination scheme gives 800 marks for 1st year and 600 for 2nd year. Each theory paper has 75 external and 25 internal marks. Each practical paper has 100 external and 100 internal marks. There are two practical papers in each year.
